Geranium Oil India

Geranium Oil is steam-distilled from the leaves, stalks, and flowers of various plants in the Pelagonium genus. Perfumers favor the so-called Bourbon variety, which is made from Pelargonium roseum grown in the central highlands of Madagascar and on Reunion Island. The Bourbon variety, is heavy, olive green, and richer than other geranium oils.

It has rosy, slightly sweet, minty fragrance and an uplifting effect. Its rosy aroma comes from Geraniol, an isolate of Geranium Oil, in leaves. This alcohol is found in higher concentration in Pelargonium roseum than in other pelargonium.
